Caley

He came to APM eager to find a job in retail, working with customers.

With an energetic and charismatic approach and strong commitment, Caley turned work experience into a paid job in the produce department at Woolworths where he’s now been working for more than two years.

Caley says having a job is important because he is able to engage with customers and “put a little sunshine on their faces”.

The physical impact of his cerebral palsy is the main challenge impacting how he works.

“I can’t be on my feet for too long. I need to take a break and sit down, and that’s one of the good things about the short shifts I usually have,” Caley said.

Caley is quick to point out the most important thing about having a job: “I have a reason to put pants on in the morning. What’s not to like?”.

APM and Employable Me connect job seekers like Caley with suitable, ongoing employment.
